Megan & Kelsey

All summer long, I have talked to these two gals about letting me practice my picture taking skills (or lack of) on them. We finally got around to it Tuesday night. And it was pure craziness. The fun kind. They laughed & played around the whole time. Sometimes, I think as adults, we forget what it was like to be young and not have a care in the world. We are quick to become judgmental of our youth. We see them having a good time, cutting up, being a little loud, and immediately think of them as being immature, irresponsible & childish.

I tend to do that more with kids I don’t know, than the ones I do know. If we are out somewhere, and a group of kids get loud and start acting goofy, all the sudden I become a grumpy, old woman. Fussing to David about how they are behaving. Most times he’ll gently, or not-so gently, remind me of my own youthful days and some of the things that me and my friends got into. If I’m in a really bad mood, I’ll roll my eyes and say, whatever. But more times than not, it makes me smile, and remember how much fun life was at that age.

We're going to go out again once the leaves start changing colors and the weather cools off a bit. Hopefully, by then, I'll learn a little more about my camera, and they will learn how to smile without breaking out in a fit of giggles.

I just have to brag on these two for just a minute. They are good Christian girls. They love the Lord and have dedicated their lives to living for him. It’s not just“talk” with them, their actions back up what they claim to be. They are both very giving & their willingness to help & serve others puts me to shame.

Megan & Kelsey, thanks SO much for letting me practice on you! And for hanging out with me even though I’m twice your age. HA!

Strike a Pose and Blogger

Last night, I took my niece and her BFF into town to take a couple pictures. They laughed the whole time. Seriously, the.whole.time. We had a blast. I enjoyed spending time with them just goofing off. They make my 36 year old self, feel 17 again. HA!

We took several pictures. I am still working on them, and hope to get a couple posted soon.

I took Sarah with me. She tried to steal the show. She wanted to be the center of attention and kept after me to take her picture.

She wanted to “pose”

By no means is this child camera shy.

I switched from the Wordpress blogging platform to the Blogger one. Just trying it out. I cannot find a theme that I like over there, where I can still have big pictures, and have some sort of side bar. I’ve seen this Photo II template several times and really like the way it looks.

I’m still trying to straighten things out and figure out where I want this or that but wanted to go ahead and make the switch.

Which One?

Months ago, I started trying to figure out Photoshop Elements , and let’s just say, it’s WAY over my head.

Then I ran across Picnik and fell in love with it immediately. With just a click of the mouse, I can do all types of things to one of my photos.

Anyway,  while looking around online the other night, I ran across a couple PSE tutorials that looked pretty easy. So, I gave them a try.

What do you think? Which one do you like the best? I’m having a hard time deciding.
